Little Beginnings is seeking a reliable, warm, and team-oriented Kitchen Service Worker & Support Teacher to join our community for a 12-week seasonal position. This role is essential in maintaining smooth daily operations while our Kitchen Manager is on leave.


Position Details
·         Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM
·         Duration: 12-week temporary position (with opportunity to transition into a permanent Support Teacher role)
·         Pay Rate: $17.50 – $20.00/hour (based on experience)


Role Overview
This position combines kitchen management responsibilities in the morning with classroom support in the afternoon, helping ensure both food service and classroom coverage run smoothly.


Key Responsibilities
1.       Kitchen & Food Service (Morning Focus)

·         Receive, monitor, and ensure safe food temperatures for catered meals
·         Prepare and deliver meals to classrooms for family-style dining
·         Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
·         Operate commercial dishwasher; clean and store dishes appropriately
·         Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

2.       Classroom Support (Midday/Afternoon)

·         Provide coverage for teacher lunch breaks (primarily 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM)
·         Support children during meals, rest time, and transitions
·         Assist with maintaining a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment
·         Help supervise children in accordance with licensing standards


Qualifications
·         Experience in food service, childcare, or a related field preferred
·         Ability (or willingness) to obtain a Limited Food Service Certificate
·         Comfortable working with young children (infants through preschool age)
·         Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills
·         Ability to multitask and move between kitchen and classroom environments

Little Beginnings is a play-based early childhood program committed to creating a warm, nurturing, and collaborative environment for children, families, and staff.


Compensation: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
